100-Year-Old Twins Celebrate Birthday With Princess-Worthy Photoshoot

Tags:

It’s equal parts heartwarming and inspiring to see 100-year-olds living their best lives. But it’s even better when said 100-year-olds are twins.

That’s why we can’t think of anyone better to be an example of living life to the fullest right now than Maria Pignaton Pontin and Paulina Pignaton Pandolfi. The twin sisters in Brazil are set to celebrate ten decades on this earth together later this month. And they’re marking the occasion in the most wonderful way—a fabulous photoshoot worthy of royalty.

Photographer Camila Lima heard about the sisters’ upcoming milestone birthday on the news. Lima, who regularly takes pictures of older couples “as a way to inspire young couples” decided to reach out to Maria and Paulina for a photo of sisterly love.

The sisters instantly agreed. And judging by how fabulous these pictures turned out, there’s no question as to why.

Lima said the entire photoshoot took about two hours and included not only pink and blue matching dresses, but also hair styling and makeup application. She added that the sisters “were all excited” by the process of getting ready.

“They did everything I asked and did not complain about tiredness,” she said.

She added that both of them were “very happy and satisfied” with the final result. It also ended up being a great present for the twins’ big family, which includes six children, 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren on Paulina’s side and five children, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren on Maria’s side. We bet they all can’t wait to celebrate officially on May 20.
