It’s Only March, But This Teen Graduated High School Early for the Most Heartwarming Reason–and the Whole Community Turned Out to Watch

Tags:

High school graduation is a big deal for most teens–but for one young woman in Foxborough, MA, the special moment came early, and in a powerful, public way.

With the support of her school, Mackenzie Anderson held a special early graduation ceremony so that her mom, Susan, who is suffering from ALS and is in the final stages, could be there to witness the important event.

And as she walked in her cap and gown to receive her diploma it wasn’t just her mom–seated in a wheelchair in the front row of the high schools auditorium–who was there to watch.

Check out the emotional video, which Mackenzie hopes will draw attention to Hope Loves Company, the ALS nonprofit she’s been working with since her mom’s diagnosis.
