Amy Grant’s oldest daughter Gloria Mills Chapman, who goes by Millie, made the selfless decision to donate her own kidney to her best friend, Kathryn Dudley.

Millie’s father, Gary, said the girls had known each other their whole lives, and when Kathryn needed a new kidney, Millie stepped up immediately and was a “perfect match.”

Grant’s spokesperson confirmed the surgery was a success and that both women are in recovery. And Millie’s stepsister “shared” a heartwarming photo of Millie after the operation was complete.
For Amy Grant’s part, her team also issued a sweet shout-out to Millie’s act of kindness.
It’s already been clear from one of Grant’s latest videos, “To Be Together,” that the singer is all about her beloved family and family memories, both from the past and present. After all, the footage included many of her old family Christmas photos.
This is yet another sign of how valuable she sees her precious family members.
And it’s also clear now what a wonderful familial influence Grant has had on her daughter–especially when it comes to treating her most beloved and dear friends like family. How beautiful!
