Police officer Marcus Montgomery thought he was just answering a routine call at an animal shelter. After all, he got a report that an ex-employee was threatening current staff members at Panhandle Animal Welfare Society in Florida. So he went to investigate.
He didn't expect to find a new fur baby.
While he was on the call, one of the staffers showed Montgomery a puppy who had been left with nine others in a box on the shelter's doorstep, freezing throughout the night. As it turned out, the soft-hearted cop had already adopted one other dog from the shelter. So when he saw how adorable this puppy was, he simply couldn't resist.
"I get to hold him and he immediately curls up in my arms," he said.
The puppy ended up going home with the officer, and he intends to make him a permanent member of the family. Judging by the photo, it's not hard to see why!
