Arnold Schwarzenegger Updates Fans After Emergency Heart Surgery

Tags:

Get well soon, Arnold Schwarzenegger. TMZ reported on March 30, that the actor underwent emergency heart surgery last week, and on April 2, Arnold confirmed the news was true — and now he has given fans an update on his health.

“It’s true: I’m back!” the 70-year-old star wrote on Twitter of his condition, assuring his followers that he’s doing well despite the rumors. He continued, “I went to sleep expecting to wake up with a small incision and woke up with a big one — but guess what? I woke up, and that’s something to be thankful for. Thank you to the doctors & nurses. And I’m truly filled with gratitude for all of the kind messages.”

Fans immediately took to the comments to express how happy they are that Arnold is feeling better. “Get well soon Arnold! I am glad you are back👊🏻💪,” one fan wrote. Another added, “You’re a beast! Always fighting.” One follower commented, “You are the strongest! Welcome back on track!”

The 70-year-old went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Thursday, March 29, for a catheter valve replacement, but after complications, doctors decided he would need open heart surgery immediately (it lasted several hours). The former California governor previously got an aortic valve replaced in 1997.

According to his spokesperson, Daniel Ketchell, when he first woke up from surgery, his first words were, “I’m back.” The statement, of course, was in reference to his famous line “I’ll be back” from his popular film, The Terminator. We’re wishing Arnold a very speedy recovery!
