Pup Who Spent More Than a Decade Chained Up Outside Now Has a Bed in Every Room

Meet Bear, a poor pooch who spent 15 years of his life chained up outside his owners’ house. Thanks to The Guardians of Rescue of Suffolk County, New York, Bear’s owner surrendered him on January 15, 2017, which allowed him to be put in the care of the rescue group while staff members worked on finding Bear a forever home.

“We received a call about a dog in need of a dog house,” Robert Misseri, the founder and president of Guardians of Rescue, said in a statement. “But when we got there, it was even worse than that.”

When the group found Bear, he was suffering from bad arthritis and worms. How sad!

Thankfully, members of the rescue group did exactly what they set out to do: They found Bear a loving dog mom named Kerrie Rosenfeld.

“Having Bear has brought purpose and meaning to my life in a time when I needed it most,” Rosenfeld said. “He doesn’t know it, but he has helped me grow stronger in many ways. We are both on this journey together. We are both growing stronger physically and he continues to be my motivational partner in all things! Who rescued who?”

Nowadays, Bear is living it up with an endless amount of treats and warm doggy beds. In fact, Bear has a doggy bed in each room!

“He loves belly rubs, his twice daily walks, meal time and treat time, and walking from room to room in the house,” Bear’s mom told USA Today. “He has a bed in each room.”

We’re so happy Bear found a dog mom as loving as Kerrie!
