The Top 10 Cat Names of 2018 Are Purr-fect for Our Fur Babies
If you’re thinking of adding a kitty to your family, you’ve probably wondered about some of the best cat names for your furry friend. Giving your pet the perfect moniker is an excellent way to jumpstart your bond and (hopefully) lead to a great relationship down the line. But with virtually endless options of cat names out there, it can be hard to pick which one is the best fit for your good boy or girl. Luckily, the list of top cat names of 2018 is here to give you a helping hand as you make your decision.
Researchers at Banfield Pet Hospital, which is based in Vancouver, Washington and dubs itself the largest general veterinary practice in the world, analyzed the database of more than 2.5 million dogs and 500,000 cats cared for at multiple Banfield locations this year to find out which pet names were the most popular. Feline fans will be pleased to know that there’s quite an impressive variety of options that made the top 10 names for cats. Although some of the best cat names are also quite popular for humans (such as Oliver), others are more distinctly for our four-legged friends (such as Shadow). You might get a chuckle out of the fact that the simple name Kitty also happened to make the list. But the best part is that this list of cat names might give you some great inspiration for what to name your precious pet — even if you don’t end up selecting one from this particular list.
Have you already named your cat? You might still be curious to see if your pet’s name made the cut for top 10. If so, it might be fun to know that there are tons of other kitties out there that share the same name as yours — and are hopefully being adored as much as your pet. But even if your cat’s name is nowhere to be found, maybe that just means that you came up with something totally unique and special. We’ve yet to hear a cat complain about that — especially if their name is the star of the show in your home!
