She Refused to Be a “Fat Mother of the Bride,” So She Lost 40 Pounds

Tags:

When Elizabeth Morse found out her beloved daughter was getting married, she knew something for sure — she did not want to be the “fat mother of the bride.”

Beth had been tired of feeling “huge” for quite some time. But her problems extended beyond simply feeling uncomfortable with her size; she kept constantly losing her breath when she walked up the stairs and she suffered from knee and hip pain. She was also borderline diabetic, as a result of her “couch potato” lifestyle.

Over time, she also began adopting her husband’s eating habits. Though this included plenty of healthy food, it was served in huge portion sizes. In short, she didn’t see at first that she was quite literally eating too much of a good thing.

But when she bravely stepped on the scale, she realized that she weighed the same amount as her husband. And she said right then and there that she was “not going to be rolled down the aisle as a huge MOB.”

Inspired by the countdown for her daughter’s wedding, Beth was determined to make a big change to her life before the big day. And when her husband introduced her to the doctor-designed meal delivery service called bistroMD, she got just the change she needed to reach some serious weight loss success — altering her portion sizes.

“By cooking and plating the Bistro food, I think I subconsciously learned what my plate should look like — what the portions are that will keep me balanced,” Beth said.

In less than 10 months of bistroMD, Beth has lost 40 pounds — so far! Amazingly enough, she no longer needs to take her blood pressure medication.

And after successfully keeping the pounds off since signing up for the service, she hopes to shed about 30 or 40 more pounds before the wedding happens in October.

Even more inspiring? She plans to continue her journey toward health and well-being long after the wedding is over and into 2018.

Oh and this summer, she’s learning to paddle-board. We have a feeling she’ll do amazing!
