Wisconsin school bus driver Trudy Serres had a not-so-secret habit of crocheting between her bus routes. Since she had very young and curious passengers, it's no surprise that many of them wanted to know what she was up to.
She'd usually be making a hat or a scarf, but one day she got an unusual request from a 10-year-old student named Vincent. He asked her to make him a crocheted taco, since that was his favorite food. She accepted the challenge, and two days later the little boy had the yarn taco in his hand.
"And Vincent said, 'That is so cool! I got a taco. Look what Ms. Trudy made!'" Serres said.

It's no surprise that after that, she started getting a bunch of requests from other students to make crocheted pieces depicting their favorite items. But what IS surprising? She's accepted them all.
"I've made a hockey player with team uniform colors with a stick, ice cream cones, chocolate covered strawberries, a football, unicorns, Darth Vader and four Yodas," Serres said.
It's taken her about four months, but she's crocheted more than 30 items so far for the kids on her route. The kids are known to take these toys on vacation with them, hold them while they're at church, and even sleep with them at night.
"It's an awesome feeling because most children you give them a toy and they throw it in the corner after two plays," she said.

Even more awesome? Serres is doing this purely out of the kindness from her heart for the sake of the kids, and has no desire to make a business out of her hobby.
"I only did it for my students," she said.
