Absolutely Precious Moments Between Celebrity Grandparents and Their Grandkids

Thanks to social media, cute moments of proud celebrity grandparents meeting their grandkids for the first time can finally be captured in all its adorable glory. From stars like Jim Carrey to Susan Sarandon, these candid moments are just too precious for words.

There are lots of great things about being a grandparent. For one, you get exclusive rights to play and cuddle with babies, and secondly, they inject new excitement and energy into our lives. That’s one of the reasons Jane Seymour appreciates being a grandmother.

“I love having my grandchildren over,” the actress and jewelry designer told Closer Weekly about her grandkids. “I think playing with the grandchildren keeps me young. They have endless energy, and it’s so much fun.”

Jane “swore” she wouldn’t be one those grandmothers who endlessly brags about their grandkids, but she can’t help herself.

“You get so suckered in the minute that first grandchild comes along,” she explained. “It almost seems more magical than when you had your own children!”

Jane has four adult children — Katherine, 35, Kristopher, 21, John, 21, and Sean, 31 — and three grandkids — Luna, 3 months, Willa, 3, and Rowan, 4. When Willa was first born in 2013, Jane was so excited she introduced the world to her new granddaughter during a walk down the red carpet.

“They make me realize that I have to stay healthy because I can’t wait to show them the world!” she said.

In today’s modern world, grandparents might be more important than ever — Jane definitely thinks so.

“A lot of grandparents today have to take financial responsibility for their grandchildren, and care for them,” she said in a separate interview. “Many grandparents are more hands-on today. Parents now all have to work, and a lot of families can’t afford to babysit, so they turn to grandparents. The fantastic part is that aside from the child’s parents, no one loves a child more than the grandparents. And the more a child is exposed to family and unconditional love, the better.”
