Even though we won't plug in our Christmas trees for more than a month, Disney World is already preparing to flip the on switch for Cinderella's Castle Christmas lights. The good news is that you don't have to be in Orlando to view the lighting ceremony because you can tune in to Disney's live stream. Keep reading to learn how to watch the Cinderella's Castle Christmas lights.

How to Watch the Disney Castle Lighting Ceremony

On Thursday November 9, Cinderella's Castle will light up for the first time this holiday season. The ceremonial lighting of the castle kicks off Mickey's Very Merry Christmas, a park-wide event that features live shows, holiday parades, free sweet treats (obviously the most important part!), and seasonal decorations if you stay in one of the Disney hotels. The lighting will be incorporated into a live-action Frozen performance called A Frozen Holiday Wish. Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff will gather to transform Cinderella's Castle into a "glimmering ice palace for the holidays." Sounds magical!

To see the lighting in person, you have to have tickets. At this point it's already sold out, but Disney lovers at home can still catch it. All you need to do is set your alarms for 8:10 p.m. Thursday night. Visit the live stream on the Disney Parks Blog by bookmarking the page or saving this link. If there's someone who is tech savvy in the house, try hooking up your laptop to the TV if you want to watch the splendor in 50 inches of high definition. Forget going to the theater when you can enjoy dinner and a movie from the comfort of your own home.

We'll see you from our couches Thursday night. Because who needs Thanksgiving anyway, right? Let's bring on the mistletoes, candy canes, and Disney princesses — we've been good this year!
