When it comes to most classic movies, each and every scene is perfect to a T. Not a single thing seems out of place and the actors are always right on cue. But believe it or not, it's usually the total opposite behind the scenes, and actors are bound to experience some painfully awkward moments!
For instance, remember that romantic kissing scene between Joseph and Betty in Sunset Boulevard? Well, when the actors, William Holden and Nancy Olson, kissed for the first time, the director actually let them continue for several minutes as a practical joke. William's wife, however, was behind the scenes watching the whole thing, and she was the one who eventually yelled cut!

We can only imagine how awkward that was! But it doesn't even hold a candle to the story behind one of Marilyn Monroe's simplest scenes in Some Like it Hot.
The actress had to do over 40 takes of the same scene because she couldn't remember one of her lines. Her character, Sugar, only had to say "Where's the bourbon?" while searching for a bottle. But instead, she kept saying things like "Where's the whiskey?" or "Where's the bottle?" Eventually, the director had to write the line down and paste it into every drawer she opened.
We'd have never guessed that these films had such interesting stories behind them. But it's intriguing to see that even classic stars have had their fair share of silly and awkward moments on set!
