Sugar cookies are definitely something to look forward to, and just think about all of the doors that sugar cookies open up: They're perfect for the kids to decorate, they're piled high with colorful icing, and they go great with a cup of coffee.
Some might find sugar cookies too plain or overly sweet, but we're in love with their ooey-gooey texture, sparkly sprinkles, and light buttery taste. Which is why we were super excited to hear that beloved brand Cracker Jack (yes, Cracker Jack is still around!) has brought back its seasonal Holiday Sugar Cookie Popcorn.
Though we haven't gotten our hands on this delicious treat just yet, comments from the Instagram-famous reviewers over at Junk Banter have us drooling.
"Cracker Jack Holiday Sugar Cookie popcorn carries a thick, snow white glaze and some red and green sprinkles," the blogger wrote. "The candy-coated popcorn is all sorts of merry. The glaze is smooth and identical to what one would expect from a caramel corn. The flavor is a sweet vanilla."
But what about the ultimate question: Does it actually taste like sugar cookies?
"With this being a popcorn and not an actual cookie, you kind of had to resign to the fact that certain elements of a sugar cookie would be absent," the bloggers wrote. "The candied popcorn lacks a butteriness that you’d expect from the cookie."
Hmmm, we guess they have a point — but it still sounds delish to us! After all, for the savory-and-sweet-lovers among us, we get the best of both worlds: a salty snack combined with a sweet dessert. If you want to try it, just be sure to hurry: Cracker Jack's seasonal Holiday Sugar Cookie Popcorn ($17, Amazon) probably won't last past the festive season.
