Kids have accidents—that's just a fact of life—but it's how parents react to them that teaches kids powerful life lessons. Fortunately for 6-year-old Valerie, her dad, Ben, had an award-winning response to the news that his daughter had wet herself at school.
Ben's wife, Connie, phoned, relaying the news that Valerie's school had called after Valerie had an "accident," and that the young girl was crying and asking for her father. So Ben put on his figurative Super Dad cape and prepared to come to his daughter's rescue.

But before he left the house, Ben stopped at the sink before he left to splash some water on his own pants so it would look he too had had an accident. Talk about going above and beyond!
Valerie's 17-year-old sister Lucinda just had to snap a photo of her dad. Lucinda posted the pictures of her father and his "pee"-soaked pants as well as photos of Valerie smiling along with her father, hopefully slightly less embarrassed about her own accident.

There are few things more heartbreaking than being unable to protect your kids, so even though Ben couldn't save Valerie from having an accident, he could do his best to make her feel loved and soothe her embarrassment. And according to Lucinda, her dad would do this for any of his kids.

“I have memories of my dad working all night building a play set when I was little and waking me up in the morning to take me out and push me on the swings. Both of my parents are incredibly selfless, especially when it comes to the happiness of their family,” she told Scary Mommy.
Now that thousands of people have praised his parenting skills Ben is “very humbled at all the positive responses. He knows a lot of parents out there would do the same thing," Lucinda said.
You rock, Dad!
