Hear a Pup Purr Like a Kitten When New Owner Strokes Her Little Face

If you’ve never seen a dog purring like a cat before, you’re in for a serious treat. A faux Frenchie named Penelope has taken the internet by storm with her cute face and even cuter sounds.

In an Instagram video posted by Andrea Neistadt, who is Penelope’s soon-to-be owner, the pup can be seen looking directly at the camera as she lets out an adorable attempt at a bark. As Andrea explained in an interview with Huffington Post, she filmed the footage when Penelope was just three weeks old and still with the breeder. The Oregon-based dog mama captioned the video: “I’m getting bigger and finding my voice.” Just take a look at the clip of Penelope from her page @penelopefauxfrenchie below, and you’ll see why everyone on the internet is cheering this doggo on.

Since the viral video, Andrea has published aww-worthy updates about Penelope’s progress on her Instagram page, such as one post that reads: “Good morning! I hope everyone has a great weekend. I know I will. I have 27 naps scheduled.”

Andrea will officially make Penelope a part of her family on October 25. But for the time being, she is thoroughly enjoying watching her new fur baby slowly grow up — with little purrs turning to barks all along the way. And obviously, Penelope’s thousands of followers are oohing and ahhing over the cuteness, too.

As if all this weren’t heartwarming enough, Penelope’s Instagram page even includes a bit of sweet poetry to greet all her new followers: “I’m just a girl, cute as can be, loving on everyone, I get to see.”

How adorable is that? We can’t wait to see more of Penelope when she finally comes home — and hear more from her, too!
