With all the negative news surrounding air travel lately, this flight attendant story is sure to put a smile on any flier's face.
Mom Whitney Poyntz was on a WestJet plane back home to Canada from California when her 4-month-old baby started sobbing in the middle of the flight. Though her little girl had been fast asleep when they first boarded, the captain's voice on the intercom woke her up.
"About 30 minutes later, all hell broke loose," Poyntz confessed in a Facebook post.
As Poyntz and her husband desperately tried to soothe her, the parents were met with glares from their fellow passengers. Until a caring flight attendant named Ashley showed up, that is.
Ashley asked if she could take her daughter for a relaxing walk up and down the aisle of the plane. Poyntz agreed, and sure enough, the genius idea did just the trick.
Poyntz later said that she didn't know what to feel after experiencing the spontaneous act of kindness up in the sky.
"I was amazed that someone wanted to help like that," she said.
So amazed that she just had to snap a photo of the moment to remember the kind gesture forever.
"When she was soothing her, it melted my heart seeing her smiling and talking to her," she said.
She's melting our hearts, too! Bravo to you, Ashley. We can all learn from your example, whether we're in the air or on the land.
