Anyone who's ever been to a wedding knows the magic of the "first look." There's no denying that the moment a groom first lays eyes on his beautiful bride in her wedding dress is one for the books, and many newlyweds choose to celebrate that magic in a staged "first look" picture as part of their wedding photoshoots. But one Arizona bride decided to pull a prank on her groom in the best twist on the trend we've ever seen.
Erin Goldberg wanted to surprise her now-husband Ean in their "first look" photo by donning her cat pajamas instead of her lovely wedding gown. The cat shirt, which she bought at Walmart back when she was a teen, is one of her favorites.
“I thought it would be really funny for Ean to turn around, expecting this huge moment of me looking gorgeous in my dress with my makeup and hair done, only to turn around and see me in one of my typically embarrassing casual outfits,” she said in an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle.

Their wedding photographer, Molly McElenney, agreed to the idea a few weeks before the wedding.
“As soon as she told me about it, I knew we had to make room for it in the timeline because his reaction alone would be totally worth it,” Molly said.
She was absolutely right!
It's pretty clear that Ean found Erin's idea just as funny as she did, and we're taking that alone as a promising sign for this couple's happy future. Shortly afterward, the couple did share a true "first look" moment as well as other more traditional snapshots showing her wedding gown, which was beautiful in its own right.
But as Erin put it so perfectly, the cat pajama "first look" will hold a special place in their hearts. And it sounds like Ean agrees.
"Even in her cat shirt, sweatpants, and stupid slip-on shoes, she still looked drop-dead gorgeous," he said.
If that's not true love, we don't know what is.
