Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reportedly Have Undercover Code Names and They’re Straight From a Spy Movie

Tags:

It’s no secret that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are among the most popular couples in the world today, so it comes as no surprise that they would go under a guise from time to time. Apparently, the royals are not known as simply “Harry and Meghan” to their bodyguards.

In case you’re wondering, they’re not known as “Haz and Megs” either. “H and M” is also an absolute no-go. In fact, Harry and Meghan are reportedly known by a secret code name that would be tough to connect back to the couple — until you think about their royal titles.

According to The Sun, the two are referred to by their royal initials: DS. Reportedly, this stands for the “Duke and Duchess of Sussex.” Better yet, The Sun claims their bodyguards have extended their names to be “David Stevens” and “Davina Scott” — how fitting. With a flurry of people waiting to capture their every move, it’s no wonder the royals go by code names to their security guards.

A royal source revealed to Daily Star that it is “far too risky” to call Harry and Meghan by their actual names. “If anyone got hold of a phone belonging to a royal aide or security team member, they won’t find Harry Windsor and Meghan’s names in it,” the source said.

They aren’t the only royals to have their own code names. Prince William and Duchess Catherine also go by the pseudonyms Danny Collins and Daphne Clark. While it might be hard to think of William as a “Danny,” the initials again give it away — DC — standing for the “Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”

The code names are certainly fun, but we prefer to call the royals by the names we know and love. Meghan and Harry are set to arrive on Australian shores next month, where they will visit Sydney for the Invictus Games. They are also set to visit Melbourne, Fraser Island, and Dubbo.
