At 16, Greta Hokanson was diagnosed with leukemia and urgently needed a bone marrow transplant. No one in her family was a match, so she used a national registry to connect with an anonymous compatible donor, a man who agreed to undergo the grueling donation process to save the young girl's life. Two years later, Hokanson finally got to meet her savior, an Arkansas man named Danny Daniels who had been serving in the Air Force National Guard and had given bone marrow at a drive following the cancer diagnosis of a colleague.
It was a beautiful way to thank the man who had given her so much.
