Most of us have a teacher or two that sticks out in our memories from childhood. Whether they helped us through a particularly hard time or simply made learning fun, our educators undoubtedly made an indelible impact on us throughout our most formative years — just as teachers are working to help mold and shape the  impressionable young minds and hearts of our children and grandchildren today.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could find an extra-special way to show your gratitude to those beloved mentors for all that they do? Thanks to several newly launched programs and plenty of trustworthy products at Staples, you can!

Read on for three easy ways to give back to a teacher this school year.

1. #ThankaTeacher With $10,000

Did you know that the average teacher spends up to $500 of their own funds on classroom school supplies each year? To help lighten their load and show appreciation for teachers everywhere, Staples has launched the #ThankaTeacher campaign

From now through September 14th, you can help a teacher you know and love win $10,000 for their school. All you have to do is share a photo, video, or story about an educator you think deserves to win on Twitter or Instagram while tagging @StaplesStores with the hashtags #ThankaTeacher and #Sweepstakes. Ten lucky teachers will be chosen to receive $10,000 in gift cards that they can use toward school supplies to make sure every classroom in their school starts the year off on the right foot.

2. Give Back While You Shop

Worried your teacher won’t be one of the lucky ten? Thankfully, there’s another way you can help, thanks to Staples’ new Classroom Rewards program. Through September 15, 2019, the company will allow parents to delegate five percent of the company’s profits from their purchase to a teacher or school of their choice, up to $250. All you need is a valid receipt! Additionally, teachers will earn $5 in rewards just for signing up to receive their checks. Talk about smart shopping…

3. Gift Them With Supplies

As always, the easiest way to help a teacher out is with supplies. Staples’ new line of back-to-school products has everything they could ever need for the classroom, from handy organizers and bright coloring utensils to cleaning products that’ll help keep kiddos happy and healthy all year long. There’s even a teacher checklist that allows you to shop for teacher-requested items for participating schools or classrooms! Check out our top five picks for back-to-school supplies below.
