When Two People Fought Over This Dog, Judge Judy Let the Pup Decide
In a case of a pet ownership dispute, Judge Judy Sheindlin tried an unorthodox method of discovering the truth. If you’re an animal lover, this story will tug at your heartstrings.
The matter centers around the plaintiff, a man who says Baby Boy is his dog; the defendant, a woman who says she bought the dog for $50; and Baby Boy himself. So who gets the dog?

The justice system is built on a set of laws, and while we’re not quite sure what the legal precedent is for ownership cases like this, Judge Judy ruled based on the law of love. Instead of consulting the books, she consulted her heart and let Baby Boy do the judging.
In an unprecedented move, she asked for the dog to be brought to the front. She asked for him to be put on the ground, and, not surprisingly, he ran to his real owner. So again we ask, who got the dog?
Fortunately, this tale had a happy ever after when Baby Boy ran to his real owners, the plaintiff. You can just tell by the wag of Baby Boy’s tail that he knows exactly who he wants to go to. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of love.

So far the video has been watched more than three million times. At the end, the emotional dog owner starts crying (as did we) when Judge Judy tells him he can take his dog home.
“This means everything in the world to me,” the man said during an interview after the hearing. “This is like my child.”
Perhaps the defendant really did buy Baby Boy from someone off the street, but after watching Baby Boy’s reaction to seeing his owner, why would you want to take him away?
