This is one kidnapping attempt that was thankfully unsuccessful. And it's all because the kidnapper didn't realize just who she was messing with.

An unnamed grandfather was at the park with his two grandchildren when a strange woman walked by. And this mysterious woman, 28-year-old Lindsay Frasher, seemed a little too eager to see his 3-year-old granddaughter.
According to Sergeant Gary Hopping of the Auburn Police Department, "Ms. Frasher approached one of the children, called her by a different name and tried to take her."
The next thing the horrified grandpa knew, Frasher was picking her up off the ground.
But the elderly man wasn't going to let her go. He grabbed onto his grandchild as hard as he could. And thankfully, bystanders in the park noticed the incident and jumped in right away to help him out.
Hopping said, "It was a tug of war over the little girl."

Ultimately, the citizens coming together were able to free the little girl from Frasher's grasp and subdue her until the police arrived on the scene.
She was arrested on the scene and charged with kidnapping. She's currently being held in jail.
Hopping said, "What’s important is that citizens got involved and helped the grandfather. To me, that’s just invaluable."
