Did you ever write a love letter to your crush back when you were still in school? It could have been something as simple as, “I like you, do you like me? Check yes or no.” Or perhaps you sent more elaborate messages of affection to your sweetheart later on in life when they had to venture far away for one reason or another. Although Valentine’s Day is typically reserved for these types of grand gestures, there’s no wrong time to let your loved ones know just how much you care for them. That’s the idea behind the husband-and-wife writing duo, Dalma Heyn and Richard Marek, and their love letter writing contest.

The couple encourages participants to “bare your soul in writing” in order to win a beautiful rose-gold Tiffany Paloma Picasso Love Ring, which is valued at $500. The ring features the handwriting of Paloma, who is the youngest daughter of the painter Pablo Picasso, and is said to have been inspired by graffiti found in New York City.

The contest coincides with the release of the couple’s latest novel, How to Fall in Love ($18.19, Amazon). The book’s description claims it is “at once heartwarming and wise, funny, and touching,” and begs reader to ask questions like, “Can Great Love be coaxed into existence? Is true romance a matter of happenstance, or does it derive from some kind of magic?” All of that includes Cupid himself helping the main characters unlock potential for love that they otherwise would have never considered.

If just reading that quick description of the novel already sent your heart beating a bit faster than usual, you might want to grab your computer and start typing out those emotions for the contest. Even if you don’t have a partner or crush, there’s nothing stopping you from using your imagination to express how much love you have to share. You can even use it as an exercise in self-love to celebrate all of the ways you should appreciate your own mind and body. The winner will also receive a “framed, gorgeously hand-written” copy of their letter. They will also have their letter shared on social media, but only with permission. You have until April 30 to enter and the winner will be announced on or around May 15.
