Man Confesses His Love for Elementary School Crush Online and the Sweetest Thing Happens
It might be worth dusting off your old yearbooks; it brought this man back together with his crush from third grade.
When a friend of Ed Hemmes asked people from their third grade class to tag people in a scan of their group yearbook photo on Facebook, he tagged as many people as he could, including the crush. When he got to her photo, he wrote “Christy Young. Loved her!” not realizing that she could–and did–see every word.
When he apologized for professing his adoration in such a public way, she told him it’s was OK; it was nice to have an admirer.
The two old friends starting talking on Facebook, Buzzfeed reports, and love blossomed. Four years after tagging her photo and professing his long-ago love, the two got married.
Ed convinced Christy to meet him at the school they had attended so many years ago, where he proposed. The couple now has a 16-month-old daughter and, as they told People, are now working on their happily ever after.
