If your husband has ever driven you nuts by forgetting where he parked the car, you can rest easy knowing he probably didn't forget as long as one German man did. This Frankfurt driver forgot his parking spot for a whopping 20 years — and amazingly, he was just reunited with it.
Back in 1997, the man, then 56 years old, reported to city police that his car had been stolen. At the time, we're sure it seemed like a pretty sensible thing to do; after all, he probably thought he had looked absolutely everywhere for the vehicle and could only draw the worst possible conclusion. But as he recently learned, no one had laid a hand on his car after all — he had simply misplaced it.
Now, two decades later, police found that missing car rusting away in the garage of an industrial building — exactly where the owner had left it. Amazingly, the building was just about to be demolished — along with the missing car — when the vehicle was finally discovered.
The good news? Cops were able to track down the owner, now 76 years old, and personally reunite him with his long-lost car. The bad news, unfortunately, was that the car was no longer in any shape for driving, so it did end up getting sent back to the junkyard at the end of the day.
We can't imagine what the man's reaction must have been when he finally saw his car again! We're sure he couldn't believe his eyes. And if he has a wife, we're sure she must be shaking her head right about now. We know we are!
