Meghan Markle’s Thank-You Notes Are a Sweet Throwback to Diana’s Down-to-Earth Spirit

Tags:

Meghan Markle has already made a name for herself when it comes to her kind and caring nature, but her fans were pleasantly surprised when they experienced it firsthand. Following her 37th birthday last month, Prince Harry’s wife went above and beyond for her well-wishers, sending them individual thank-you cards.

One royal fan shared the personal card on Instagram, revealing the message:

“The Duchess of Sussex is so touched you took the trouble to write as you did on the occasion of her 37th birthday. It really was most thoughtful of you and Her Royal Highness sends you her heartfelt thanks and best wishes.”

The other side of the card showed an image of the Duchess of Sussex and fans. The post generated a number of comments from other royal supporters, with one reading: “That’s really lovely! What a great choice by the duchess — spending time with the people.”

Speaking of the people, this card reminds us so much of the People’s Princess herself. It’s exactly the story of warm, personal touch that Princess Diana’s thank-you notes always had.

Duchess Meghan isn’t the only royal to share touching mementos with fans who wish them well for special occasions. Prince William and Kate Middleton also shared an adorable photo of Prince George with those who wrote him happy birthday messages.

The message on the back of the card read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thank you for writing as you did to Prince George on the occasion of his fifth birthday. This was most thoughtful of you and greatly appreciated.”

The royals have been busy attending a number of formal engagements lately. This week, Prince Harry made his debut as Captain General Royal Marines at the Royal Marines Commando Training Centre.

Harry succeeds his grandfather Prince Philip, 96, in the role, and spent the day meeting new recruits who are currently training to become Royal Marines.

Harry and Meghan’s visit to Australia for the 2018 Invictus Games is just a little more than a month away. In a series of tweets released earlier this week by the palace, it was revealed Harry and Meghan will arrive in Dubbo first on October 17, traveling to Melbourne the next day.

The couple then head to Sydney for the Games, followed by Fraser Island on October 22.
