Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Charity Donated $189,000 to Animal Shelters

As if we needed another reason to love Miranda Lambert! The country star’s MuttNation Foundation just donated a whopping $189,000 to animal shelters all over America. Can you imagine the staff members’ delight when they found out?

Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation,, a foundation that promotes and facilitates adoption of shelter pets, carefully vetted animal shelters across the country and narrowed them down to 50 truly exceptional ones. Then, MuttNation surprised them all with grants ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 — money that will help these shelters continue doing amazing work with rescue animals in need.

“I am amazed and humbled by the great work these shelters do, and so honored to be able to support their critical efforts on behalf of rescue animals,” Miranda said in a release.

Miranda and her mom, Bev Lambert, founded MuttNation back in 2009 to raise awareness for rescue animals and shelters, and also to help dogs from all walks of life find a safe, happy place to call home. As Bev explained, the shelter selection process proved to be much more complicated than they originally thought it would be, especially because they realized early on that not all animal shelters were operating at the same level of service. Thus, the Mutts Across America award program was born.

“We feel we have now developed a criterion list through which we hand pick the ‘best of the best’ shelters,” said Bev. “Miranda and I, along with our board of directors, are honored to join forces with them in our mutual drive to benefit Mutts Across America.”

It sounds like people working at these shelters couldn’t be happier about this prestigious recognition and generous donation.

Lisa Pearce of the Charleston Animal Society wrote, “On behalf of the animals in our care, you have our deepest gratitude. What a wonderful surprise to receive your certificate, letter, and generous donation to Charleston Animal Society. We are celebrating five years of being the first No Kill open admission shelter in the Southeast and will make sure your kindness goes toward lifesaving our sweet shelter dogs and cats.”

We can practically see all those tails wagging right now in all these inspiring shelters! How sweet of Miranda and her mom to show them all this puppy love.
