Growing up, John Dorroh never knew where his mom disappeared to on Christmas Eve. But every year, without fail, she'd end up slipping away for a few hours, saying she had a few errands to run.
It wasn't until after she died that he found out what these 'errands' really were.

In 1990, after his mom passed away, Dorroh received a mysterious letter from a man named Robert, who had worked with her at a toilet seat factory.
The letter revealed that every Christmas Eve, Dorroh's mom would come to his house.
Dorroh said, "He said, ‘I don’t know if you know what your mom did for us,’ and I thought, ‘No, I just knew that she left.' And he said, 'She was playing Mrs. Santa Claus for my kids.'"
As it turned out, Robert didn't have much money. But he did have a lot of kids. And they couldn't be more delighted to see 'Mrs. Santa' coming to bring them toys, clothes, and shoes for the holiday.

Even though Dorroh is now 63, he is still so touched by his mom's act of kindness.
