Eight-year-old Jewel Warren lost her father, Tim Warren, a police officer, almost four years ago. Every day without her dad has been a struggle, but when she received an invitation to a father-daughter dance, she was particularly distraught.
Betsy, Jewel's mother, contacted a friend with the police department and six cops quickly volunteered to go with Jewel to the dance.
The six officers arrived in full uniform and broke out their best dance moves for the special occasion.
"We know we cannot replace Tim, but we can be there for his family when we are needed," said Officer Amen, one of Jewel's dates for the night.
Several local businesses donated flowers and money for a dress and transportation for the night. Amanda Swain offered to photograph the event for free.
"I know I won't forget it," Swain said. "I'm positive Officer Warren smiled several times as he looked on from above."
