Princess Diana would be so proud to see what Prince William is up to today. Not only has her son served for 10 years as president of the Royal Marsden Hospital (a role once held by his beloved late mother), he also shared a sweet moment with a 6-year-old cancer patient.
The royal gently fastened the tiny patient's I.D. bracelet around her wrist as she sat waiting for treatment.
“I’m always the pilot... I’m not trusted with the special stuff,” Prince William said to her, laughing. “How’s that? Is that okay? Is that loose or alright?”
The little girl, named Daisy, was all smiles and nodded as she held onto her stuffed animal.
Daisy, who loves all things princess-related, later told reporters that she enjoyed being cared for and attended to by Prince William during his visit.
“It was fun,” she said.
Adorably, she added, "He’s too old for me to marry."
Prince William later joined other young patients in a play room for arts and crafts and other activities. Much like Daisy, the rest of the sweet kids really appreciated his presence.
And his visit to the groundbreaking cancer treatment center couldn't have come at a better time.
Considering this year will mark the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death, it is truly beautiful to see her sons paying homage to some of her biggest achievements and passions. And as any Princess Diana fan knows, helping people (especially the most vulnerable) was of utmost importance to her.
She must be smiling down on him now.
