You've heard of chicken and waffles (it is a Southern delicacy, after all), but have you ever thought about switching the chicken out for something unexpected — like Red Lobster's juicy and delicious lobster meat? If not, we hear you; we hadn't thought of a waffle-and-seafood mashup, either — until now, that is. Starting Monday, March 26, Red Lobster will be offering guests the chance to try the company's brand-new dish, Lobster and (Cheddar Bay Biscuit) Waffles — a meal that the legions of Cheddar Bay Biscuit fans out there won't be able to pass up.
The new treat features a tasty Cheddar Bay Biscuit Waffle that's topped with a perfectly-cooked, buttermilk-battered and fried Maine lobster tail, finished off with a healthy helping of maple syrup — which gives Red Lobster customers a sweet and savory alternative to the traditional comfort meal of chicken and waffles.
By switching out plain ole' waffle mix for Red Lobster's famous biscuit mix, these waffles put a modern spin on the company's coveted Cheddar Bay Biscuits — and you'd better believe the internet is thrilled. Several Red Lobster fans have already voiced their opinion of the lobster-topped monster of a meal on Twitter. And while some users are repulsed by the idea, the majority of the public seems to be overly excited to try Red Lobster's new crustacean creation.
#redlobster Cheddar Bay Waffles and Lobster! That biscuit recipe makes great donuts, so I'm looking forward to tasting it as a waffle! Yeah, yeah, yeah--I know, my foodie friends scoff, but, but, but--Cheddar Bay Waffles!— Brook Monroe (@BrookMonroe) March 24, 2018
Although the menu item may be priced differently in various cities, Red Lobster says the meal will average around $19.99 per plate — which is still a heck of a lot cheaper than trying to make your own lobster and waffle dish at home. But you'd better hurry: Like all good things, Red Lobster's Lobster and Waffles will only be around for a limited time. Catch it while you can.
