When Cotton was discovered by animal rescuers back in September, they never thought this beautiful cat would be holding a huge secret.
Carmen Weinberg picked up the feline after a homeowner in Royal Palm Beach, FL, spotted a scraggly-looking Cotton--whose fur was mangy and eyes were scabbed shut from a parasitic skin disease. Unable to take in the cat himself, the man connected with Weinberg, who runs the nonprofit Animal Friends Project, via Facebook, for additional help.
"He had been walking outdoors completely blind,” Weinberg said of Cotton to the Huffington Post.

Weinberg immediately took Cotton to the vet, where they found he was extremely dehydrated and malnourished. But the real shock came when Cotton opened his eyes to reveal two striking, different-colored peepers!
“It was a nice surprise to see that he had one blue eye and one yellow eye,” Weinberg said.
Now, with his beautiful eyes and luscious fur (which grew back in December), Cotton is looking for a new home. Weinberg explained that a microchip had been implanted in Cotton by a previous owner, but when she reached out to the cat's original owner, the person claimed they were no longer able to house the feline.
“Cotton loves attention,” Weinberg said. “He is very vocal and comes to you asking for love...He could get overstimulated and give love bites, but he usually controls himself.”

Weinberg further stipulated that Cotton would do best in a quiet home with no children, and with lots of space to run around.
We hope sweet Cotton finds a new home soon!
