A new year means 365 more days of our favorite activity — royal watching!
We have so many events to look forward to, including the third Cambridge baby, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's May wedding, and Zara and Mike Tindall's second child. This year is already shaping up to be an exciting time for our beloved British royal family..
Although there are so many exciting things locked in for the next 12 months, we've also created a few predictions of our own. As we look into a crystal ball, we see a mini Prince Harry, another royal wedding, and an even more historic transition of duties. So sit back, grab your cup of tea, and enjoy our royal wish list for the year ahead!
Meghan Markle will be pregnant with her first baby by the end of the year.
This would be the cherry on top of an already amazing year for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and it doesn't take a fortune teller to call this one. The couple has already revealed they'd love to start a family "in the near future," and we think they'll waste no time making their wish come true shortly after saying "I do" in May.
Insiders recently told Woman's Day the 36-year-old actress has already enlisted the help of nutritionist and fertility specialist Melanie Brown to help whip her and Harry into their best shape for pregnancy.
"Melanie was at Nottingham Cottage for around an hour checking Meghan's vitals, looking into her health history, and taking as much information as possible to devise a specialist diet for both her and Harry to stick to," a palace source exclusively told Woman's Day. "While Meghan's hoping she won't have problems conceiving when they start trying for a family, she's also aware she'll be almost 37 by the time she does," the source added.
Meanwhile, Harry is a complete and utter softie around kids and has spoken openly about being ready to become a dad. "I've longed for kids since I was very, very young," the 33-year-old has said.
They made their sparkling debut as a couple at last year's event. And with the 2018 Invictus Games kicking off in Sydney just five months after their wedding, Harry could bring Meghan to enjoy the sporting extravaganza in all its glory and sneak in a little, extended honeymoon.
Australia holds a special place in the royal's heart after he spent time there in 2003, and in 2015, he was there again on a month-long secondment with the Australian Defense Force. Just last year, Harry went to Sydney, Australia, for a whirlwind trip to launch the Invictus Games, and we have no doubt he'd love to bring his wife back and show her the magic of the country.
We'll also see the power couple branch out as a duo and focus on issues impacting the youth of the U.K.
Princess Eugenie will be the next royal to announce her engagement.
Given all the attention Prince Charles' sons get, it's easy to forget that there are other royal love stories playing out! The next royal wedding announcement has to be from Princess Eugenie, 27, and her boyfriend of six years, Jack Brooksbank, 29.
Wedding rumors swirled in 2016 after the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, was pictured with a ring on her wedding finger. It's also been reported the long-term lovers have made a "wedding pact" to get married soon.
Imagine getting two royal weddings in one year!
Kate Middleton and Prince William will have another daughter.
Call it a hunch, or the fact the bookies are certain, but our money is on William and Kate's third child to be a girl named Alice. If there's one thing we know for sure, it's that William and Kate will most definitely opt for a classic choice.
Their first-born son's full-name name is Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, a nod to the kings who came before him. Their daughter is Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, in honor of the queen and her late grandmother Princess Diana.
So far, the bookies firm favorite for a girl is tied between Alice and Victoria — two regal-sounding names with long-standing royal ties. Alice was also a front-runner during the countdown to Princess Charlotte's birth in 2015. It was the name of one of Queen Victoria's daughter and Prince Philip's mother.
Pippa Middleton will have a baby.
She might not be an official royal, but Pippa Middleton is definitely an unofficial royal, and her first pregnancy will still be huge news.
We predict Pippa Middleton and her husband, James Matthews, will announce their happy news in the coming months. We have no Kate Middleton will make the best aunt, and George and Charlotte would love to welcome another cousin into the family.
Prince Charles will take over even more of the queen's duties.
On April 21 this year, the queen will celebrate her 92nd birthday.
If you ask us, there's no one more deserving than the monarch to put the foot on the brakes with her gruelling royal duties and to spend more time with her retired husband, Prince Philip. The wheels are already in motion, with the queen handing over several important roles to her first-born son, Prince Charles.
In November last year, the queen took a back seat and gave the future king the green light to be the main royal representative for Remembrance Sunday. The subtle changing over of the duties marks a significant chapter in the royal family, as it signals Prince Charles' grooming for the top job of king as his mother gets older. It's going to be a sign of things to come in 2018.
