The Long-Awaited Shamrock Shake Is Finally Back at McDonald’s

Tags:

That’s right, folks. Love it or hate it, the infamous Shamrock Shake is officially back at McDonald’s. The fast food mecca posted the announcement on Wednesday via Twitter.

“It’s green. It’s minty. And it’s back for a limited time in select locations. Download the Shamrock Finder app for iOS and Android to find a Shamrock Shake near you,” the company wrote on Twitter.

The app, much like the McRib Locater, allows users to find participating locations, swap Shamrock Shake-themed stickers, and raise a shake with friends to toast St. Patrick’s Day, according to a McDonald’s press release.

What do Shamrock Shakes taste like?

Even though we’ve never actually tried a Shamrock Shake, Twitter has given us a good enough reason not to bother. While McDonald’s describes the minty froth as a “creamy, dreamy vanilla soft serve blended with Shamrock Shake syrup” (what is that exactly?) and topped with delicious (hmm, delicious is a subjective word) whipped topping, the internet seems to disagree. Here are a few of our favorite cringe-worthy tweets describing the drink.

1. “Tragic.”

2. “They’re Trash.”

3. “DIY Shamrock Shake.”

Some users, however, are overly excited about the shakes’ return, including the Dixon Police Department of Dixon, Illinois.

What do you think: Does it sound dreadful — or delicious? Guess we’ll never know what this mystery green foam-of-a-drink really tastes like, and honestly, we’re okay with that. Living vicariously through Twitter is good enough for us!
