One man in particular who just can’t get his head around that scene is scientist and StarTalk host Neil deGrasse Tyson. You know the scene we’re talking about. The ship has sunk, Rose floats on top of a wooden door, and Jack clings on mercilessly before slipping into the glacial waters. And then a boat rescues Rose as Celine Dion begins to play.
Meanwhile, everyone is left shouting at their screens for Rose to move! There was 100 percent enough room for both of them on that door, and we all know it. Well, now Tyson has opened our eyes to another plot hole in the same scene, which will make you kick yourself for not noticing before now. He says that we should all be focusing on the fact that Jack only made one attempt to climb onto the door.

He told the Huffington Post: "Whether or not he could’ve been successful, I would’ve tried more than once. You try once. ‘Oh, this is not gonna work. I will just freeze to death in the water.’ No, excuse me. No!"
He continued: "The survival instinct is way stronger than that in everybody, especially in that character. He’s a survivor, right? He gets through. He gets by. And I’ll tell you this, if that character was Matt Damon from The Martian, he would’ve made an outboard motor and saved everybody. This is how science can help you!"
