Sometimes stories are almost too good--and the ending too perfect--to be true. Fortunately, this tale is one tale you can believe in, and it will surely warm your heart.
Patrick Giblin, 37, was put up for adoption in 1978, after his teenage parents, Stephanie and Todd, were forced by their families to stop seeing each other. Adopted by two "wonderful" parents, Giblin had a happy childhood, despite losing his mom to an illness when he was 11 years old. After Giblin grew up and had a son of his own, he decided to search for his biological parents--and since Stephanie had left her contact information with the adoption agency, mom and son finally reconnected after 35 years.
Stephanie then tracked down Todd Ripple, the birth father--and that's when the story gets even more surreal: Stephanie, who had recently been widowed, and Todd, who was going through a divorce, began falling for each other all over again, just as they had as teens.
"And then yes, you guessed it: They got back together," said Giblin, who later helped his birth parents get to know the father who had raised him. "They recently even got married! It was completely surreal for all of us in the most amazing way possible. Sometimes, life comes full circle and gives you back more in return than you ever missed the first time around," Giblin told Today.
