The suddenly popular pic is of a sleeping baby girl dressed in a sweet knit dress, and she's surrounded by syringes in the shape of a heart. It was first posted by the Sher Institutes, a group of fertility clinics, which received the photo from one of the families they had helped become parents.
The photos caption reads, "Thank you to Sher Fertility St. Louis and Dr. Dayal's patient Angela, who shows the true definition of love that went into making this gorgeous new baby girl."
Since it was posted, hundreds of parents have added to the thread their comments in support of this powerful portrait. Many chimed in by sharing photos of their own children who were conceived after struggles with IVF, IUIs, fertility drugs, and other methods, and expressed their pride and joy in their own family's happy outcomes.
"This photo took my breath away! What a powerful message and reminder to the daily struggle. It was worth every single shot for my two babies!" wrote one mother, referring to the daily injections many women endure in their quest to become pregnant.
As for the clinic who posted the pic, they're glad the important photo is being shared and is helping to open the conversation about infertility.
We couldn't agree more.
