Bonsais are gorgeous plants, there's no doubt about it. The tiny Japanese trees add a welcome improvement to any home. But now, a Japanese design team has created a bonsai that does something truly incredible.
It floats! Yes, really. The genius invention, courtesy of Hoshinchu, includes a bottom "energy base" and a floating ball on top. Both halves have magnets attached to them, which allow the ball to float with the bonsai on top. Even better, it could potentially become a mainstream decor item soon. After all, the team's Kickstarter just surpassed its goal for its support, so it'll be exciting to see where they take this brilliant project next.
