Each year it's a struggle to get your children to bed on New Year's Eve. With all of the excitement surrounding them, they're restless and determined to stay up until midnight with everyone else. It seems like there's nothing you can do to stop it, so you bend the bedtime rules--only to deal with the consequences of a cranky, sleep-deprived kid the next morning. However, there's a new quick-fix to this issue you need to know about now!
The streaming service Netflix has designed a kid-friendly New Year's Eve Countdown that doesn't actually have to last until midnight. The ingenious idea allows parents and their kids to customize a countdown of original Netflix films and other content to enjoy before they're off to bed.
The new feature this year: The kids get to pick their host. While King Julian from Madagascar took control of the festivities last year, you can now choose from him, the Care Bears and Cousins, Inspector Gadget, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, Oona and Baba from Puffin Rock, and the stars of Project Mc2. These hosts allow for a more family-friendly atmosphere than some you may find on network television, ensuring a wholesome holiday.
This countdown is a win-win. Your children get a full night of sleep and you get the rest of the evening to celebrate however you choose--just make sure you call the babysitter before heading out!
