Security Camera Captures Creepy Footage of Restaurant Chair Moving on Its Own

Tags:

On the scariest day of the year (other than maybe Tax Day), we bring you this creepy footage from a restaurant in Ventura, California. What’s so scary about this video, you ask? Well, recent security footage captured more than one incident of furniture mysteriously moving on its own, and there’s only one explanation: ghosts! Fortunately, these are friendly spirits.

Jimmy, the general manager of the Cronies restaurant in question, posted the first spooky video on October 10. As he explains in the video, he came into work that morning and noticed a barstool on the ground. He played back the security camera footage to see what caused the chair to fall in the empty restaurant, and, as you can see for yourself, the chair toppled over on its own. Creepy!

The second video was posted on October 17, and it seems like whatever spirits pushed over the barstool got gutsier: This time a chair moves on its own in the middle of the crowded restaurant! The security camera also captured the reaction from a family sitting near the chair that mysteriously moved. You can see one woman ask her family if they just saw what she did — a chair tip backward on its rear legs before coming down. The shocked woman even approaches the table and picks up the chair to see if it’s a trick.

If you’re still not convinced this restaurant is haunted, maybe these quotes from Cronies’ co-owner will change your mind: “For this to happen, it’s pretty creepy,” Dave Foldes, Cronies co-owner, told CBS2 “It’s just really weird. We’ve been here 27 years [and] nothing weird like this has ever happened.”

Why would someone want to haunt a Cronies restaurant? Well, the walls of this restaurant feature photos of patrons and employees who have died. Could these spirits be to blame for the paranormal activity?

“Ralph and Don. They were our first originals. They actually introduced me to my wife. And they died 25 years ago,” Foldes said. “Whenever something funny happens, we blame it on them.”
