When two rescued baby orangutans recently met, the whole world stopped to watch and say, "Awwww." And when you see this moving clip, you'll know why.
Their names are Gito and Asoka, and they're in the care of the International Animal Rescue in Ketapang, West Borneo, after each being found alone. According to USA Today, Gito was found "close to death" in a box soaked with urine--and both animals likely saw their mothers die before they were captured by humans in the forests of Borneo and kept as pets.
But it's clear from the video that neither the animals' spirit--nor their sheer sweetness--have been affected by those difficult early circumstances. Just watch the affection, curiosity, and innocence on display. It's SO uplifting!
