At first glance, the photo above seems to be a sweet snapshot of a mom napping with her toddler. Instead, it's a moving tribute to a heroic member of the ER by her loving husband, Bobby Wesson, of Alabama.
His wife, Rayena, is a trauma nurse. "In an hour she will wake up, put on her scrubs, and get ready for work," Wesson writes. She'll drink the coffee he brings her, he continues, and kiss him and their child goodbye. Then "she will leave to go take care of people that are having the worst day of their entire lives. Car wrecks, gunshot wounds, explosions, burns, and breaks...it doesn't matter who you are or what happened to you. She will take care of you."
After she comes home from her 14-hour shift, sometimes she's too emotional to want to talk about her day, and sometimes she can't wait to talk about it, Wesson writes; sometimes she laughs and sometimes she cries. "But regardless of those sometimes, she will be on time for her next shift. My wife is a nurse. My wife is a hero," he finishes.
As the post has gone viral, Wesson has taken to Facebook again to give his thanks. "Those of you that know my wife know that she flinches at the word hero. She doesn't miss an opportunity to say that she is a small part of a very large team--but she is a large part of my very small team and I'm proud of her."

Christmaaaas! with Rayena Wesson
So hats off to Rayena for her dedication, courage, and caring. And to Wesson for wanting the world to know about his heroic wife.
