She’s Adorable! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Share First Picture of Baby Lilibet
Lilibet Diana has made her debut! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally shared Lilibet’s first picture in the family’s adorable holiday card. Harry, Meghan, and Lilibet appear casually in the photo alongside older brother Archie, who looks just like his dad. Let’s break down the details!
Lilibet’s First Picture
The Sussexes chose a sweet occasion for Lilibet’s first picture. Though royal babies are usually introduced shortly after their birth with official portraits, Meghan and Harry have chosen to release fewer pictures of their children in a bid for more privacy. But the two have kept up the royal family tradition of releasing family Christmas cards, and chose to include the first shot of them as a family of four. The picture comes just over six months after Lilibet’s birth and was taken sometime during the summer, according to People Magazine.
Archie’s Ginger Curls
Looks like Archie has inherited his dad’s most famous feature! Though we’ve had glimpses of Archie’s red hair before, this is the first time we’re seeing his full and curly head of hair. It’s sweet to see the two-and-a-half-year-old looking so much like his dad already. But when it comes to his sweet curls, that’s all mom! Though Meghan styles her tresses straight now, pictures of her as a child show her natural curls. Seems like Archie’s a perfect mix of his parents.
Their Sweet Message and Lilibet’s Nickname
The couple added a simple message along with their card that reiterates how complete they feel as a family of four. The card also confirmed they call their daughter Lili, a cute nickname that goes so well with Archie. “This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family.” They also mentioned four charities close to their hearts, to which they made holiday donations:
This organization teams military veterans with first responders to deliver quick emergency and disaster relief. They’ve been on hand for hundreds of natural disasters around the country and the world, including aid after tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods.
In an effort to welcome Afghan refugees, Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton, along with their wives, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, and Secretary Hillary Clinton, teamed up to lead this organization. Welcome US provides aid for refugees fleeing conflict and helps them settle in America.
Inspired to help refugees beyond their physical needs, Humanity Crew provides mental health aid to those affected by the Syrian crisis. The group helps those struggling with the trauma of fleeing conflict, often at perilous danger to their lives.
Focused on helping those left behind, the Human First Coalition offers aid to American citizens and allies still in Afghanistan. The group is helping them reach safety after the rapid takeover of the Taliban after US troops retreated.
Meghan and Harry weren’t the only ones to release a new family picture to mark the ocassion. Don’t miss out on the other royal family Christmas cards, including Prince William and Kate with their three adorable kids. As always, we wish the royals a very happy holiday!
