This Dog Was Boarding at a Kennel, But Snuck Out of Her Cage for the Most Touching Reason
This must be the sweetest story sweeping the Internet this week–and it’s a touching tribute to the power of motherhood.
A mutt named Maggie had been boarding at a kennel in Canada called Barkers Pet Motel and Grooming. Before she’d been adopted, her pups had been weaned and taken away from her. That may explain what happened next.
The collie mix was sleeping in her space when she heard the sound of two foster puppies who’d been brought to the kennel that evening. Maggie “kind of MacGyvered her way out,” as the kennel’s owner told Buzzfeed, and ran over to the pups’ cage. When the owner came back from dinner, she found the older dog curled up outside.
There was nothing left to do but to let all three pooches sleep together and snuggle! As the owner wrote on Facebook, “We see a lot of adorable things here at Barkers, but this story takes the cake!”
The next day, Maggie’s owners came to get her. The two younger furballs, named Hannah and Kari, are still waiting for homes–though we’re sure they’ll find ones soon!
