Clay Walker Fans Are Going Crazy After His Big Announcement

Big congrats are in order for country singer Clay Walker after his stunning admission.

The “This Man and This Woman” singer and his wife, Jessica Craig, walked the red carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 2 where they dropped a total bombshell on an unsuspecting reporter.

Walker, 47, and his wife are expecting another child! The two, who married in 2007 at the Audobon Zoo in New Orleans, are already parents to three other kids: William Clayton (born in 2008), Mary Elizabeth (born in 2009), and Elijah Craig (born in 2013). Elijah’s birth is particularly memorable because the little boy was born on Father’s Day! Walker also has two children from his first marriage to Lori Lampson, whom he divorced in 2003.

The country star broke the news on Twitter first, posting a picture of himself and his wife, his arm resting gently on top of his wife’s stomach. He cheekily captioned the photo, “Guess what:)…really…guess what..you’re the first to know:)!”

At the ACMs a reporter from Rare Country asked Walker about the news, and he joked, “I don’t know how this happened, she’s pregnant!” It sounds like Walker and Craig have already broken the news to their other children, but there’s no word yet on this baby’s sex. “They’re so excited,” Clay said, referring to his three kids’ reaction. “We have boy, girl, boy and no telling. We don’t ever find out. We just wait until it happens and then we know. There’s nothing like that surprise.”

For Walker, being around to watch his three–and now four!–kids grow is such a blessing. In 1996, doctors gave him some grave news. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease that affects the central nervous system, disrupting the flow of information between the brain and the rest of the body.

“When I was first diagnosed I was told I’ll be in a wheelchair in four years and dead within eight,” Walker said during an interview last year.

His wife has stuck by him, and together the two are building a life with their kids.

“It’s not a home of desperation or despair. It’s really a place where we call can grow and feel good,” he said.

We’re so happy for the growing family!
