Many factors help a movie become a classic, but having at least one unforgettable quote is definitely a major reason a film will stick in our minds. (“Here’s looking at you, kid.”) But often our memories can play tricks on us when it comes to the iconic lines said by our favorite characters.
In fact, there are more than a handful of quintessential lines from some pretty famous films that we’ve been getting wrong this whole time. Sometimes, the actual lines are too long to remember, so our collective brains accept a shortened version. Other times, we simply get the order wrong or swap out words based on what we remember from the plot. Either way, you might be surprised by how many you’ve flubbed!
