A father and his special needs son were enjoying lunch when they witnessed shocking behavior from the manager. The father was so stunned he immediately whipped out his phone and started recording, and his message has everyone talking.
Jesse Young of Chattanooga, TN, was traveling home from Vanderbilt, TN, with his young son, Jasper. At Jasper’s request, the two stopped at a CiCi’s Pizza in Murfreesboro for lunch. Jesse and Jasper were the first customers that day, so the restaurant was empty except for them and a CiCi’s employee who was also eating alone at another table. According to Jesse, it appeared as though the female employee had “some mental and/or physical challenges.”
As father and son continued to eat, they noticed a manager stopping at the employee’s table; and what he was doing stunned the father. Jesse watched as the manager, whose name he later learned was Brandon, cleaned her table and took away her dirty dishes. He also noticed Brandon return to the employee, whose name is Diana, with a napkin he used to “gently [wipe] her face while she just smiled at him.”
As the father of a special needs child, Jesse was so moved he shed a few tears. “Just knowing that there are people like this in the world gives me hope,” he wrote on Facebook. When he approached Brandon to thank him for his kindness, Brandon had a very humble response. “I just try to treat people the way my grandparents taught me to,” Brandon told Jesse.
So beautiful! In his Facebook post, Brandon wrote about how quick we are to publicly criticize restaurants and servers when we have a bad experience. But what if we were just as quick to post uplifting stories, he asked his followers. We second that!
Jesse finished his post by encouraging his friends to stop by CiCi’s and visit Brandon if they were in the area. While we, unfortunately, can’t stop in, we want to say thank you to Brandon from the bottom of our hearts. What an amazing young man!
