This Magic Marker Lets You Cover Your Grays in Seconds

Trying to cover gray hair? You’re certainly not alone. Countless women make trips to the spa or salon every day to do just that. But dyeing gray hair can prove to be costly over time. And there’s no guarantee that a colorist won’t miss a spot here or there. Luckily, one woman has discovered a genius way to cover gray hair—that doesn’t require a salon!

Writer Melissa Malamut began graying in her late 20s. Her gray hairs were spare enough that she could pluck them out one at a time at the beginning. Plus, she got highlights done three times a year, which usually covered any unexpected strands that popped up. But now, in her late 30s, things are a bit different.

“I’m at a weird stage in my gray-hair growth,” she wrote in an article for New York Magazine. “It’s enough that I want some sort of coverage between highlights appointments, but not enough that I need to commit to a ‘getting my roots done’ routine.”

So she tried a bunch of different powders and sprays, but she found the products to be too messy for her liking. On top of that, she found that they actually provided too much coverage; she wanted to cover individual strands of hair.

Then, she discovered the TouchBack Pro marker. And it changed everything about her morning, because she could now cover a hair with just a swipe.

“It’s easy to use because it’s literally a marker,” she wrote. “it’s thicker than a Sharpie, but shaped so you can use the thin or flat sides, depending on what kind of coverage you need.”

The marker is made out of real, temporary hair color that sticks to the hair strongly enough that it won’t come off with a hairbrush but weakly enough that you can wash it right out with shampoo.

It’s also never left her any embarrassing stains.

“Plucking will never cross your mind again,” she promises as the end of her piece.
