Better Ask for Summer Tuesdays, Because AMC Has Brought Back $5 Movie Tickets
There’s no need to wait for the weekend to dig into a buttery bag of popcorn while watching the latest rom-com on the big screen: nationwide theater chain AMC has made their $5 Tuesday tickets a permanent promotion. The move is part of a larger effort by the cinema giant to fill up more of its seats, with the company also launching a monthly movie subscription service called AMC Stubs A-List.
The $5 offer, which was originally meant to be a limited-time promotion, is available to any movie fan who signs up for the free AMC Stubs loyalty program. Besides the discounted Tuesday tickets, AMC is also offering Stubs members a small popcorn and soda combo for an extra $5 — that’s a date night with the hubby or a girls’ outing for $10!
On top of that, AMC is offering a subscription service called Stubs A-List that lets super film buffs watch three movies a week (or approximately 12 titles a month) for just a monthly fee of $19.95. Fans who sign up for the program can also accrue rewards points and enjoy free size upgrades on popcorn and fountain drinks.
“We believe that our current and future loyal guests will be interested in this type of program, as AMC Stubs A-List rewards guests with something that no one else offers: the very best of AMC, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema and RealD 3D up to three times per week, for one simple, sustainable price,” Adam Aron, CEO and President of AMC Theatres, said in a press release. “Since its inception in 2011, AMC Stubs has continued to evolve to meet the needs of its customers, as it did in 2016 when we introduced the free tier, AMC Stubs Insider. AMC Stubs A-List is AMC’s next evolution of delivering amazing benefits to our loyal customers, and we’re excited to continue to grow the program by leaps and bounds.”
