This darling bulldog, whose name is Lord Wellington, has it all–chubby belly, fold after fold of wrinkly skin, and those sad eyes that make you just want to reach out and give it a hug. But there’s something SO strange going on with this particular animal, though at first glance, you’d never know it.
In fact, this dog’s not actually a dog at all.

No, this pup is made entirely from pipe cleaners, and it’s the work of California-based artist Lauren Ryan. Ryan is a major fan of animals–things like dogs, wolves, leopards–and she channels that love into lifelike sculptures using only those flexible, fuzzy crafting staples you probably haven’t seen since grade school art class.
If you find this bulldog remarkable, be sure to see more of Ryan’s work. It’s incredible!
